At the movies
Well, I've seen a lot of movies lately so I thought I give ya'll my thoughts on the films. Warning: spoilers ahead!
Fun, fun, and more fun. It's a romantic comedy with action, explosions, a car chase, and pretty people. What more could you ask? It's not ever going to be considered a 'great film' but it's wonderful entertainment. And, as reported by everyone (read: gossip press) the chemistry between the two leads is electric.
My favorite parts: The marital counseling sessions that bookend the rest of the film ("we re-did the house" - read: blew up). The car chase. Jane Smith - "How come I get the girl gun?" John Smith - "You're kidding, right?"
Best. Batman. Movie. Ever! Seriously. Christian Bale plays a wonderful Bruce Wayne/Batman. The development of the Batman is very well explained and beautifully shot. Alfred is extremely amusing. Katie Holmes wasn't as bad as most reviewers are making her out to be, she did fine. The kiss at the end seemed a little forced. Like "oh, wait, we need a kiss in the movie so let's just toss one in."
I love the humor, the car chase. Alfred - "What do you call that?" (the car chase on TV) Bruce - "Damn good television." I know Bale signed for three movies total and the Joker looks to be the next villain. I look forward to more.
Nicole Kidman is cute, but it can wait until it comes out on DVD. Worth seeing, just not in theaters. The plot is very hard to buy, especially if you're familiar with the original TV show at all. Who in their right mind would write Bewitched with out Samantha being a major part.
Why is it worth seeing? Nicole Kidman. She does a great job as a witch who doesn't understand human behavior and culture much at all.
I liked it. Fun and humorous with good emotional drama. It just lacks anything resembling a decent plot line. The bad guy wasn't well developed at all. I still loved it. And I can't think of anything else to say about it at the moment.
And on a completely different note...New Stargate on Friday!!!!!!! [sarcasm] No, I'm not excited at all [/sarcasm]
