HP Fanfic Recs...Pretty Please

I finally broke down and acquainted myself with Harry Potter over Thanksgiving break. I watched the first three movies and intend to read the books in the near future. Anybody have some good fan fic recs? Actually, fic site recs would be great as well. I don't mind book spoilers. Ship wise I like Harry/Hermione and, weirdly enough Draco/Ginny (only stories in which Draco is a good guy and yes, I know I'm delusional). I do read Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny as well. Only recs R rated or lower please, no PWP and no slash of any type. Just...ick.

Note: I like long stories - the longer the better. Great shorts are okay, but they always leave me wanting more and never getting more story *pout*

Oooh, you'll LOVE the books! That's all I'd recommend at the moment. You may have a better time understanding some of the details in the fics if you read the books first anyway.

I'm starting the books next weekend and I'm a very fast reader. I fully expect to have blown through all six of them by Febuary :) You could say I'm looking for advanced recs in some ways. Weirdly sometimes I enjoy some of the fan fic much more than the actual story.

I would recommend reading the books first - as abrynne said, there are a lot of details that will make more sense. If you really do want some fic recs though, I'd be glad to. (Well, moreso on the H/Hr.)

I was tempted to squee on the revelation that you like H/Hr, but I'll hold off until I see what your impression is after the books. :)

I think my preference for H/Hr right now has to do with bits from the movies and some of the fics I've read. Who I like with who depends on how well the author sells the idea to me. I've mostly been reading crossover fic. HP/BtVS or HP/Anita Blake. The movies gave me enough of a grasp on the characters to venture into crossovers from some of my fave fandoms and HP.

I'm gonna read the books starting next weekend, after my finals. I read fan fic at work during lunch and when there's just nothing to do. Can't really do that with a book.

Hmmm...need HP icons. Will go looking for those after finals as well.

Doooh... I've always been Harry/Ginny. She's just so spunky and snaps right back at him when he's "cross" lol

It may seem like an odd pairing, but I like reading the Hermione/Snape fics myself. Probably because I have a thing for Snape.

I totally see Draco becoming a good guy, so I also like ones where he and Ginny hook up.

I've read a few Hermoine/Snape fics that I like. I like Snape a bit as well :)
