The Internet Is No Reason To Abandon Proper English

Really. I really, truly mean that. You should still spell out words and use proper capitalization. And for goodness sake spell check stuff before you post. And, for those of you who write fan fic - people talk in contractions more often than not, at least American people. Thankfully none of the people on my flist have this issue.

Can you tell I've been trying to find a good fan fic to read and haven't been having any luck? A good chunk of people just can't write. They have decent story ideas but the characters are all wrong and the grammar makes me cringe. So after about three paragraphs I get so annoyed I have to abandon the fic regardless of how interesting the story seems. Cause some people just cannot write. *grrrrrrrr*

Okay, rant over. Feel free to ignore this post completely.

Don't worry Shalla. You can read my novel when I'm finished with it. I am doing my best to make it as well written as possible :)

And I totally agree about the internet grammar thing. Nothing irritates me more than seeing "lol g2g" on a page. Or when someone substitutes "u" for "you". Oh, I must stop or I'll start a rant of my own.

Yay. And nothing annoys me more than "u" for "you". Such a pain. I don't mind "lol" but the rest of it annoys me. What's really hilarious is the people who use internet speak in their fic summaries. It's like broadcasting "I can't write so don't read my story."
